Spain redrawn by geo-tagged Flickr photos

(un)photographed Spain from senseablecity on Vimeo.

Lovely visualisation from the folks at SENSEable City Laboratory - part of MIT - which ’shows’ - geo-plots? - photos taken in Spain that are posted to Flickr.

Not just an object for viewing pleasure, however, Los ojos del mundo (the world’s eyes), as it’s known, will “uncover where tourists are, where they come from and what they are interested in capturing and sharing from their visit.”

The analysis of this data will in turn allow authorities to “understand the attractiveness of leisure cities and their points of interest”, as well as reveal “the unphotographed regions of Spain still free from the tourist buzz.”
