Wordle of the world’s Oscar tweets
Here is a snapshot of what the world was tweeting in the wake of the Oscars ceremony last night. We created it using the text of 5,000 tweets tagged with #Oscar which we gathered from Twitter’s public timeline and fed into a program.
As you can see from this second image, the first time we did it, we left in all the words - like Oscar and some other web-related expressions - tinyurl.com and the like - and ultimately the image wasn’t that useful. (The frequency of Oscar was such that everything else faded to nothing.) So we made a few minor changes and produced the Wordle above.
